Indeed the bug seems to still exist:

This particular mp3 experiences the gap (perhaps it didn't mind it!) only
in Chrome, either in linux, mac or windows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am still experiencing this bug, even when playing a sound
programmatically via new Audio() in JS. MP3 or OGG files. MacBook Pro 2010,
OS X 10.8.2, Chrome 22.

And just to iterate. The sound is clipped on the first play, around the
first 1/5th of second is inaudible. On the second play it plays the whole
thing without clipping.
