Comment #1 on issue 109540 by ylle...@gmail.com: Facebook Zynga Games

Shockwave crashes in Farmville when using Google Chrome. Messages include:
Page Unresponsive, or, Shockwave is unresponsive and it gives me the option
to stop the script or continue. Other times Shockwave will crash and a
black screen with a picture of a broken computer is displayed along with a
dialog box asking if I want to wait or kill the page. Reloading the page
usually doesn't help. I usually have to close Chrome and reopen, only for
it to immediately freeze up again and display the same Shockwave crash
message.

I'm seeing the same issue posted in Google forums. I've tried all the
suggestions I've found in Google forums and none have helped.

To reproduce the issue:
1. Open Farmville/Facebook
2. Click Farmville
3. Harvest an item (such as the Horse Paddock or Chicken Coop)that will
initiate the pop up box requiring the user to share what they found during
the harvest.

The share pop up box seems to be the culprit and will cause the game to
freeze up with the error message that Shockwave crashed. At times, when you
first start playing, it will work properly for a short period. Then it will
start freezing and quickly becomes unresponsive and crashes.

When it freezes and the Shockwave crashed message appears, it will hour
glass for several minutes and it won't let me close the browser. I've often
had to use task manager to end the Google browser.

This shockwave problem, from what other zynga forum posters as well as
myself have noticed in Farmville-2 anyway, seems to be during certain task.
For instance, it will occasionally, but very seldom happen while working
your own farm; but when you start working neighbor farms. It will be
working fine until you have gotten into around 6 to 10 farms. With the
internal SW plugin or PepperFlash enabled and Adobe disabled, it seems to
last a little longer allowing for more neighbor visits than the other way
around. Also it seems to pop up with the "shockwave plugin has Stopped
Working" error, or Black screen with the Shockwave Crash error in the
middle, "Both appear seemingly at random", more often either during a page
load or during a task, with me it seems to happen more during when I click
on the "WELLS". and the character starts drawing water. Sometimes I can
kick it out of the crash, TEMPORARILY", by doing something such as in the
right hand pane, click on the friends feed or player feed, but it just
postpones the inevitable, it at least may allow me to finish that
particular farm. I can tell its about to happen because either it will
start surging and pausing, or all motion and sound will suddenly freeze
giving me no more than a second or two to perform the fore mentioned action
to postpone it.

I hope this is enough detailed information to finally propose a real fix
for this problem. It happens during other games, but Farmville-2 seems to
be the real pain. I have been posting this error on Zyngas support site,
but all i ever get is to turn off either the internal or external flash
plugin. Like I said, the Adobe plugin being active seems to crash harder
and more often than the internal, or PepperFlash plugin.

Another seemingly important note, It will also happen in Firefox but not
IE, though IE proposes its own set of problems LOL , I really like this
browser and its ease of use and user friendly interface. Please keep up the
good work.
