New issue 251268 by
lwhita...@brightcove.com: javascript alert box text is
not selectable/copyable on Windows
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=251268
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML,
like Gecko) Chrome/27.0.1453.110 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. go to
http://www.w3schools.com/JS/tryit.asp?filename=tryjs_alert
2. click "Display alert box" in "Your Result:" frame
3. attempt to select/copy text from alert popup
Other browsers tested:
Mac Safari 6.0.5: OK
Mac Chrome 27.0.1453.110: OK
Windows IE 10.0.9200: FAIL
Windows Firefox 21.0: OK
Windows Chrome 27.0.1453.110 m: FAIL
What is the expected behavior?
Be able to copy alert text, as supplying the message text from alert boxes
is quite handy when dealing with the
cause for the alert and other uses. Some alert message text is extensive.
Consider bookmarklets.
What went wrong?
Chrome does not allow this.
Did this work before? No
Chrome version: 27.0.1453.110 Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
