- What Linux distro is this on?
- Can you try the latest stable release, which is 47.0.2526.106?
- And please don't run Chrome as root.

the original distro was crunchbang then integrated with debian-wheezy.
As I wrote in the original post I tried stable, beta and unstable but none
of these works.

Can you try with 47.0.2526.106, but run it as follows?

CHROME_HEADLESS=1 google-chrome-stable

After it crashes, look for a .dmp file from ~/.config/google-chrome/Crash
Reports/ and email it to me. Hopefully there is one to look at.
