New issue 161638 by
evan.shu...@gmail.com: HTML5 videos won't play in
Coursera
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=161638
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.19 (KHTML,
like Gecko) Chrome/25.0.1323.1 Safari/537.19
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Browse to
https://class.coursera.org/algo-2012-002/lecture/index (free
account required to signup and access this class).
2. Launch any of the videos on the page using the default (HTML5) browser.
After a few seconds, the video stops.
3. Using <name> > Course Preferences in the top right, switch to Flash
videos and there is no problem watching the videos.
What is the expected behavior?
HTML5 videos can be played back.
What went wrong?
A few seconds of the HTML5 video plays, and then the video freezes.
Example URL:
https://class.coursera.org/algo-2012-002/lecture/index
Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes
Is it a problem playing media? Yes
Is it a problem with a plugin? No
Did this work before? Yes It worked circa 21. I've always been on the dev
channel.
Does this work in other browsers? Yes IE10
Chrome version: 25.0.1323.1 Channel: dev
OS Version: 6.2 (Windows 8)
IE10 desktop plays back both Flash and HTML5 videos. This is especially
painful because HTML5 videos can have the speed increased above 1.00x,
while I can't speed through Flash videos.
