New issue 343036 by TheJakeS...@gmail.com: "No tabs from other devices"
shown incorrectly in "Recent tabs" menu
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=343036

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like
Gecko) Chrome/33.0.1750.70 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Be on either one of my laptops, signed in to Chrome, with "Open Tabs"
checked in the "Advanced sync settings" dialog on both computers.
2. Click the menu, mouse over "Recent tabs", look to the bottom of the
submenu.

What is the expected behavior?
The menu should list my tabs from other devices.

What went wrong?
The menu instead shows "No tabs from other devices". It does this for two
different Gmail accounts (one @gmail.com address, one @google.com address).

Did this work before? Yes Sometime before the new new tab page. The last
time I saw it working, it was a menu at the bottom of the new tab page.

Chrome version: 33.0.1750.70 Channel: beta
OS Version: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 12.0 r0

https://www.google.com/settings/chrome/sync shows 113 open tabs synced for
one of my accounts, and 66 for the other. Neither of the laptops I'm using
to test right now has all of those tabs open - many are on other devices.

Thanks for the report. Here's some data that will help us diagnose:
*A screen shot of chrome://sync-internals/ on one of the laptops
*If you check chrome://history/ on the laptops, does it say "Showing
history from your signed-in devices" and show any other devices?

I'm also seeing this issue.

chrome://history/ looks fine. It has recent pages.
But the "Recent tabs" menu doesn't include anything from other devices.
My chrome://sync-internals/ looks very similar to the one in #6.

Some hopefully helpful screenshots attached.

I have updated to the same version as comment #13, but I am still seeing
this behavior.

chrome://history/ on Chrome works great & updates very quickly with the
history from my other devices. In addition, Chromium (on the same device)
and chrome on my phone sync Chrome's open tabs, but Chrome still
displays "No tabs from other devices".

Okay. I just upgraded both the laptop and the PC to Ubuntu 14.04. Now it
works on the laptop, but still doesn't work on the PC. The current setup is:

PC: Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit - Chrome 34.0.1847.116 - see PC.png
Laptop: Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit - Chrome 34.0.1847.116 - see Laptop.png
Phone (HTC One M7): Android 4.4.2 - Chrome 34.0.1847.114 - see Phone.png

Laptop and Phone both show all recent tabs from the other two deviecs, PC
shows "No tabs from other devices".

I've seen other reports repeating that history page is working but the
recent tabs menu is not as well, but was not able to reproduce this
locally. AFACT the recent tabs menu should be getting refreshed every time
the menu is shown, so it shouldn't be an issue of staleness.

Yes (history page shows other device's tabs) and no (restarting browser
does not let those appear in the "Recent tabs" menu).

I don't know if this has been broken for long, I always used the new tab
page to open other device's tabs but this is gone now.

http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=343036

This is happening to me right now. Only one account is being synced across
3 PCs; one PC is a dual Windows 7/Ubuntu 12.04 netbook. The other 2 PCs are
both Mythbuntu 12.04.03 LTS.

The chromium version on all 3 linux installs is: Version 34.0.1847.116
Ubuntu 12.04 (260972). The Windows 7 Chrome version is: Version
34.0.1847.131 m

Only one of the Mythbuntu boxes is NOT syncing open tabs correctly; the
rest of the PCs/installations are working correctly. My account WAS set to
sync everything EXCEPT applications, but has been reset (after this issue
arose) to sync everything.

The "chrome://sync/" page shows "Tabs Passive 0 0" on ALL machines.

I am having the same kind of issues. My tabs won't sync between any of my
devices. Laptop and iPad have the standard blank screen for other devices
by iPhone has tabs from 4 days ago coming up. History is syncing between
laptop and iPhone but not iPad. Have tried signing out and in again on all
devices but that did nothing.

If you click on the "advanced sync settings" button, what happens?

And, just checking, your account isn't controlled by any google apps

Comment #48 on issue 343036 by PaddyLandau: "No tabs from other devices"

http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=343036

This happens to me, but only one way. I have Chrome on a Nexus 5, and
Chromium on Ubuntu 12.04 desktop.

The Android Chrome reliably gives me my desktop's tabs, updated quickly.
But my desktop Chromium shows me "No tabs from other devices" even after an
hour.

Restarting Chromium does the trick, but it means that I have to save all my
other open tabs beforehand, which is difficult -- especially if I'm busy
composing a post in one of the tabs (as has just happened to me).

I partially solved erasing all the data from the Google Chrome Dashboard.

At the moment the only problem remaining is the impossibility to sync my
5000 bookmarks. The sync process fail continuously after have synced
between 500 and 1500 bookmarks. I cares about my bookmarks library so I
chose to disable permanently the bookmarks sync feature that was giving
huge problems since one month.

FYI, the Tabs datatype is not the one to be looking at to see if there is
sync data. Take a look at the Sessions datatype. As long as the tabs
datatype is green and the sessions datatype is green and has data we would
expect there to be tab information.

Keep in mind that this is an old bug which has since been fixed. If you're
not seeing your open tabs please file a new bug and in it be sure to
include a full dump of chrome://sync-internals.
