Comment #1 on issue 515275 by msimprov...@gmail.com: uBlock origin
extension keeps getting disabled.
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=515275

Can you reproduce the issue with other adblockers (e.g. Adblock Plus)?

I haven't tried other adblockers, but it seems to have happened with the
google hangouts extension (and probably others) so it's not entirely uBlock
Origin-specific.

Could it be an adware related issue?

Tested this on Windows-7, chrome version:44.0.2403.125 and browsed through
different websites(facebook, yahoo, bbc, youtube) for 30 mins or so, but
didn't observe the uBlock origin getting disabled during that time.

Does the enable checkbox become greyed out, with a message like "this
extension may be corrupted"? If so then it might be content verification.

Otherwise, I think we've seen occasional weird issues related to sync,
particular in regards to when extensions escalate permissions, that result
in the extension getting disabled with no notice (since it got disabled on
a different machine with the permissions increase notice).

Comment #9 on issue 515275 by jba...@chromium.org: uBlock origin extension
No, it's just disabled and I can reenable it. It's pretty rare (maybe only
happened 10 times so far ever per extension), so it could be a
sync+permissions escalation issue.

Feedback from users reporting similar issue in the Chrome store:

This does not add new information to the issue, except maybe to highlight
that it is not an uncommon problem.

For anyone experiencing this, if you could go open your Preferences file in
your user data directory (1) and search for the dictionary entry in there
for uBlock Origin (2) and reply on this bug with the "disable_reasons"
value you see for it, that would be helpful.

(1) https://www.chromium.org/user-experience/user-data-directory
(2) It should have id "cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm"

As a project member I can see that these comments were deleted, but I have
no idea why. Maybe an overly aggressive spam filter? Undeleting them in any
case.

Disable reasons: 1024.

I've seen this on my Chrome profile across multiple OSes - Windows 8.1 and
10, as well as Mac OS X 10.10. I run the Chrome dev build, and auto-update
whenever a new build is released. I'm on 46.0.2471.2 dev-m (64-bit) on my
Windows 8.1 machine. The others aren't accessible at the moment.

Comment #25 on issue 515275 by h.e.kohn...@gmail.com: uBlock origin
Just wanted to add that this is also happening with my extension, iChrome.
I've received a number of complaints from users that the extension is
randomly disabled, usually with a "new permissions required" prompt but not
always.

I don't have precise numbers, but after enabling a new sync system I also
found my enabled user count (a sync profile was created from the background
page) to be significantly lower than the number shown on the webstore.

Is there any update on this?

We have started receiving customer support comments that our extension is
becoming disabled. We have also experienced a change to where our inline
install has stopped working and lastly all our replies to the Support
tickets removed.

Extension id: chhjbpecpncaggjpdakmflnfcopglcmi

We have over 500k users with a 5 star rating and have received no responses
far through other channels (support form, policy email, etc.)

Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
