New issue 267590 by albertvaka: Wish: Add MPRIS dbus interface
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=267590

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like
Gecko) Chrome/28.0.1500.95 Safari/537.36

Example URL:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Start playing a video or music player online (using HTML5).

What is the expected behavior?
A MPRIS (http://specifications.freedesktop.org/mpris-spec/latest/)
interface is added to the session dbus to allow external apps to pause or
control the music.

What went wrong?
Currently there is no support for MPRIS.

Did this work before? No

Is it a problem with Flash or HTML5? HTML5

Does this work in other browsers? No

Chrome version: 28.0.1500.95 Channel: stable
OS Version:
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 11.2 r202

We definitely need this if we want webapps to integrate in the system like
native apps.

I also very much support this idea as it would get rid of the need for a
3rd party app like Nuvola to handle mpris, the only issue I see with this
is it is Linux and particular desktop environment specific, so it would
have a small user base.

I would like this bug to be in StaleKeep, but I don't have permissions to
change that.
