Just to add, I was searching for a fix as I'm getting exact same issue.

Chrome Version 41.0.2272.101 m (64-bit)
Win 7

I also get this error on startup after logging in exactly as above. The
error displays as a Chrome button on the taskbar and I haven't changed
anything printer-related.

Will let you know if I come up with anything.

Narrowing it down a little. I managed to get the error to display again by
opening Chrome and going to:

Chrome>Settings>Show advanced settings>Google Cloud Print>Manage

At which point the exact same C++ error popped up again. So it seems to be
related to the printer settings here for me. Same for you OP?

OK, got it I think. I disconnected all printers listed under my Google
Cloud Print settings (as described above) which were as follows:

Fax
Foxit Reader PDF Printer
HP Laserjet 1100 (MS)
Microsoft XPS Document Writer

Then I went back and added them again one by one. As soon as I added the
Foxit Reader PDF printer, the error dialogue popped up again. So there
seems to be some kind of compatibility issue there.

Not really a problem for me, don't think I'll ever use Foxit in conjunction
with Cloudprint so I'll just leave it disconnected but it looks like that
could be what's causing the error.

Here is what I did:

Uninstalled Chrome -> Restart -> No error.

Installed Chrome 32bit (just folwed the google.com/chrome auto install
process) -> Restart -> No error.

Uninstalled Chrome 32bit -> Restart -> No error.

Installed Chrome 64bit (by stopping the usual process and selecting desktop
Chrome then the 64bit version of that) -> Restart -> Error.

I decided to follow the example of the poster above by checking out Cloud
Print, I removed Foxit Reader PDF (seeing as we have that in common) ->
Restart -> Error.

But then I disconnected all printer -> Restart -> No error.

So it seems that it's an issue with Cloud Print and 64 bit Chrome, Foxit
might also be a culprit since I'm now starting to suspect that this all
started after I updated it (Foxit Reader). So possibly it's not a
regression with Chrome itself but with that piece of software instead, of
maybe it's with both of them.

I was not a huge problem with me, just an annoyance with the error window.

Also thanks @theblue.

Same here - this problem only started happening for me in the last few
days, which I think coincides with just after I updated Foxit.

I do still have Cloud Print enabled in Chrome, just with the Foxit printer
removed which seems to have been enough to fix it for me. But to be honest
I don't think I've ever used Cloud Print anyway so I could just disable
that whole feature.

And as with you it wasn't a big problem, just annoying to have close the
popup down on every reboot!

Glad that seems to have worked for you too :)

A couple days ago I installed 64bit standard Chrome, getting the same
results. I also had one occasion of getting the same error (after I
installed Chrome) by another program installed a long time ago, ... when
that was the first program I started after bootup.

I must say my system is cluttered with other apps that start up on my Win7
Pro (Lenovo W530) machine, and my sfc /scannow results are not clean. So
I'm watching to see what works. Also I'll note I too have Foxit PDF Reader
and removed it from Cloud print. If I post nothing else after a few days,
assume my problems are continuing.

Thanks for sharing your progress.

Foxit claims this issue was fixed in Foxit Reader 7.2, that was released
end of July, 2015. I have not personally verified this.

Verified the same with Latest Stable# 45.0.2454.101 on Windows and could
not reproduce the issue.
@suprfluo -- Could you please re-check on latest stable mentioned and
update the issue with your findings.
Thanks in Advance.
