Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open camera app
2. Close the lid (Sleep Mode)
3. Open the lid (Wakeup from sleep)

What is the expected behavior?
Camera app should work fine after resuming from sleep mode (Lid Open)

What went wrong?
Observed error message on screen for 3 seconds, After lid is opening
(Wake-up from sleep)

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 40.0.2211.0 Channel: n/a
OS Version: Google chrome 40.0.2211.0 (platform 6445.0.0-14.11.06)

I am experiencing the same issue. I have a Toshiba Chromebook 2. Any
suggestions before I send my chromebook to Toshiba?

To provide some more information, when I go into my advanced settings,
Content Settings, Media, I can see "Default" as a drop-down for
my "Microphone:" but nothing appears in the drop-down menu for "Camera:"

Tried a google hangout. Allowed https://plus.google.com:443 for Audio and
Video. Hangouts said it does not recognize my chromebook has a camera.

I wasn't able to reproduce the issue. It seems like the computer is not
recognizing the camera at all. It's able to recognize the microphone.
Google said I should send it back to Toshiba. I am sending it to them this
week and will let you know what they say. Thank you for the quick reply!

Having this issue on a new Acer 11 with latest OS and apps. Camera used to
work just fine and suddenly returns "Your camera is currently unavailable.
Another app may be using it." I've tried several apps like Camera and
Hangouts. I can see the camera just fine in advanced settings in the
dropdown. The light comes on, camera comes on. A second later light goes
off, camera goes off. Have done Powerwash and full restore.

Google Chrome 47.0.2526.110 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Revision 0
Platform 7520.67.0 (Official Build) stable-channel gnawty

Tested once again with Camera app v4.3.2 found that
This issue occurs only when the Require password to wake from sleep is
unchecked under chrome://settings page

Observed error message on screen for only few seconds after device wakes-up
from sleep but works fine later

According to #11, this Camera problem is different from #10 and happens to
Hangouts in addition to Camera app. Maybe please file another issue for #11
under OS-Kernel-Camera?
