New issue 401493 by
tfg...@gmail.com: Hardware acceleration ironically
decelerates Google Chrome input functions
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=401493
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML,
like Gecko) Chrome/36.0.1985.125 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open Google Chrome with hardware acceleration enabled on Windows 7
2. Direct browser to
google.com
3. Type "applesauce" in the search box, and the 3-4 second lag will be
obvious
What is the expected behavior?
All input boxes respond normally/instantly to keyboard/mouse input.
What went wrong?
Around July 25, suddenly I began experiencing extreme keyboard lag in
Google Chrome. The omnibox has no lag, but any input box, i.e., composing
an email or checking a checkbox, takes several extra seconds to respond. I
must type slowly so the computer does not skip letters as I type.
As per the Google Chrome Help forum
(
https://productforums.google.com/forum/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer#!msg/chrome/zESGUEaZS10/RSgEOxqXSDUJ),
I was told to disable hardware acceleration in the settings. This fixed
the problem. I was told to post this issue here- it's making a lot of
people very frustrated.
Did this work before? Yes On July 20th, for sure
Chrome version: 36.0.1985.125 Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 14.0 r0
Sorry I'm not very technically minded, I would attempt to describe this in
better details. Just trying to help.
