New issue 454664 by
cbuck...@gmail.com: I can't update the chrome remote
desktop host
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=454664
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36
(KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/42.0.2288.6 Safari/537.36
Example URL:
none
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. I try to re-enable remote connections to my computer
2. I'm prompted to download the Chrome remote desktop host
3. I download the installer.
4. I run the installer.
What is the expected behavior?
The old remote desktop host gets removed and replaced.
What went wrong?
The installer tries and fails to
remove "chromeremotedesktophost-36.0.1985.62.msi." The installer aborts the
installation.
I can't find the file on my hard drive, but on Control Panel, that version
of Chrome Remote Desktop Hosts is listed. When I try to uninstall that so I
can try a fresh installation, the msi file can't be found, and the
uninstallation process gets aborted.
Did this work before? Yes Until this morning, I was able to use this
computer as a Chromoting host
Chrome version: 42.0.2288.6 Channel: dev
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 16.0 r0
I am not able to connect to this computer. When the computer was on and
connected to the internet and Chrome today, it wasn't recognized as a host.
Instead, the computer was listed as offline since yesterday.
