This bug seem to happen only in KDE. I cannot reproduce it in Lubuntu
(lxde).

After some testing I can confirm that:

1) This is Chrome 21 bug
2) It only happens in KDE

Please fix this :)

Confirmed with Linux Mint Maya (based on Ubuntu 12.04) with Gnome 3.4 and
Cinnamon DE. Updated to version 21 and Minimize, maximize and close buttons
are missing. Only way to close Chrome is by right-clicking on the Chrome
window button on the gnome-panel and clicking "Close" in the context menu.

Well, I am really confused now because when I try on same Kubuntu 12.04
system with new user (with all new, clean config files) I cannot reproduce
this bug.

But what ever I try with my current user (for example deleting
~/.config/google-chrome folder), I always experience this bug.

For those experiencing this problem, open Google Chrome "Settings" and
under the "Appearance" section and uncheck the "Use system title bar and
borders" check box and the minimize, maximize and close buttons should
return.

Explanation:

The problem seems to show up when Chrome is set to use "Use system title
bar and borders" while "Effects" are enabled for the desktop environment
such as Kwin, Compiz or DE's using gnome-shell or Cinnamon which require 3D
acceleration.

I tested this in Linux Mint 13 using the Cinnamon DE (Mint's fork of
gnome-shell running on Gnome 3) which requires 3D acceleration. If I
started Chrome using the Gnome (Classic) DE or the Cinnamon 2D DE, the
buttons showed even though "Use system title bar and borders" was checked
but the buttons disappeared when running the default Cinnamon DE (3D
acceleration required). Unchecking the "Use system title bar and borders"
in this case allows Chrome to manage it's own title bar and borders and the
missing buttons were back.

@justhink...@gmail.com

This bug is present when "Use system title bar and borders" is unchecked.
When this option is checked, Kwin draws its own window decoration without
problem.

So, problem appears with "Use system title bar and borders" unchecked, not
vice versa.

This problem was not present in Chrome 20.

For me, this bug is present when "Use system title bar and borders" is
unchecked.

And with new user and clean config, I don't experience this bug!? But I am
100% sure that this problem started after updating Chrome to version 21.

Assuming you are on a 32-bit Linux system, can you try the latest Chromium
build from
http://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/chromium-browser-continuous/index.html?path=Linux/150032/
and see if it works better?

This is probably a duplicate of bug 136502.

With Chrome version 22.0.1227.0 (150032) from link you have provided, I
have buttons when Chrome is maximized.

and it blocks the link of the website having same base url. it was not

try to copy the coupon code the new window opens and go to merchant site
but in this version it was blocked by chrome which is not good. this
happens in many coupon code website with the release of this version.
