Over the last 10 days (more or less) I have submitted about 20
different 440 x 280 promo images, and the rejection of these images in
now getting WAY beyond a joke!

In one case I submitted exactly the same image for two different apps.
One was rejected for "Too much whitespace" and the other was rejected
for "Too much text" and "Too much detail." Obviously there is
absolutely zero constancy with regard to the assessment of submitted
images.

In another case an image was reject for "Too much detail." I
simplified the image and submitted it again. Once again it was reject
for "Too much detail." I simplified it even more, and then it was
rejected for "Too much whitespace"

Specifically with regard to the "Too much whitespace" rejection, maybe
someone should take a look at the promo images for Google Calendar and
Google Docs (only two examples). Seems to me as if Google apps are
exempt from the anal retentive stupidity that Google sees fit to force
onto others!

And then, with specific regard to "Too much detail," perhaps someone
should take a look at the promo images for... Ohhhh... There are so
many of them that display WAY WAY WAY much more detail than any of my
submitted promo images have ever displayed!

If the image assessment is done by humans, it might be a good idea to
replace the current set of monkeys with REAL humans! If the image
assessment is done by a piece of software, it might be a good idea to
get a REAL programmer, rather than the same one that is responsible
for all of the bug ridden software that Google usually produces.

I've had this same problem! The requirements definitely need to be relaxed! Supposedly the images are reviewed by people, but I've had images rejected for "too much whitespace" when they didn't have ANY whitespace!

I'm getting so pissed at the anal retentive stupidity! This is the last promo image I submitted: -

I'm in the same boat for many of mine. I submitted an image and got back a "Your logo is to pixelated." The issue is the image is for an 8 bit game the logo is supposed to bepixelated!

Hi All,

If you have individual concerns please liase with cws-a...@google.com where they should be able to give you some more concrete guidance on the specific issues.

Thanks,

I have 16 apps. All promo pieces have exactly the same art work
except for titles and small verbiage differences.

The artwork has been in place for at least six months.

Today I find one app

- 420 art work rejected because of too much detail, image is blurry.
- 920 art work rejected because of too much white space.

Paul do you have any explanation for this, used to be curated, now
handled by algorithm?

Should we assume in the email listed in your post that ass... is
'associate' in order to further liase on acceptable artwork?

Thanks.
