I have packaged my HTML5 app (a game). It is a serverless app.

I really like the keep it simple approach to packaging. Cant wait
until chrome web store goes live.

I blog about the game here:

Great app! I tried it any it runs OK on Chromium nightly on Ubuntu
with the --enable-apps flag set.

Just installed it. It appears under extensions but cannot see on the
new tab page.

Thanks,

An email from another forum, about this issue

hey guys,
I had the same problem but fixed it.
in the newest version of chrome the way the code is written is
different than what it used to be.
If you want to make your own apps just copy the code in the example
apps and change the images and edit the manifest file to a new link.
if you want old apps to work all you do is edit the manifest file in
that app to the new format and it will work perfectly. I edited apps
such as spark chess and they work. I don't think I can upload them
because they are not my apps to begin with. The process of editing the
manifest file is very easy.
Let me know if you need further help,
Gary :D

Sorry I have absolutely no idea of what that means. I am totally new
to this.

Please enlighten me.

Thanks

Okay, save the crx file to desktop, and drag it to your chrome window, it works !

Hello,

I have updated Orbium to fix the manifest file according to recent
changes to the format. Some bugs fixed since I packaged it last time
also.

http://jsway.se/chrome/orbium_free.crx

Sadly my hosting does not seem to allow me adding the "application/x-
chrome-extension" mime type, so for now you have to download to
desktop and do the drag and drop install, like previous posters
explained.

Chrome devs, why is this mime type needed? I think a lot of devs will
hit this problem when self hosting .crx files, both for testing and
self-distribution outside the future app store.

Anyway great work. Hope to see an announcment about the store beta
soon.

I convinced my hosting supplier to enable adding additional MIME types
in the .htaccess, so Orbium can be installed in the regular way now,
just click the link and install.
