Hi everybody,

I'm having trouble with the plug in for Adobe Flash Player on Mac OSX 10.5.8. Last solution is to add the flag --allow-outdated-plugins

Trouble is i'm a bit thick i've been looking up on the Internet but it seems it doesn't work for me.
Could somebody help me by saying: "How and where i'm meant to put the --allow-outdated-plugins for Mac?"

It may help other people as it seems it's a common problem unfortunately.

Thanks a lot!

I'm having the exact same problemas Ideal_crash.

I really need it spelling out in the simplest way. I'm not finding the solution from PhistucK helps unfortunately.

Where exactly do I go to add the --allow-outdated-plugins line?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Hi guys,

I have two solutions for you.

Solution one:
--allow outdated-plugins is a command line run through Terminal. The problem with it is that you will have run it every time you open Chrome. Here's the instructions:

QUIT Chrome completely.
Go to Spotlight, search for and open Terminal
Paste this into command line:

'/Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google Chrome' --allow-outdated-plugins

Press Enter. Your Chrome should now open.

Solution two:

This is the one I used, as it does not require running Terminal every time. Very good instructions with pictures on how to create a simple script:

Tip: Before running the script, QUIT Chrome or the script will not work.
Tip 2: After making sure your script works, pin it to Dock and use it instead of Chrome icon.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Leyla for your help, that was GREAT.

Shame on Google for that. This post must be more popular, loads of people have the same problem...
