I am training to become a certified Braille transcriptionist and Braille teacher.  I have normal eyesight..
I study and proof read Braille visually by *LOOKING* at Braille instead of feeling Braille with my fingers.
Because there is no *VISUAL*  Braille font provided with ChromeVox to use in Google Docs with ".BRF" files,   I am greatly hampered in my efforts to use Chromebook with blind students.
When my blind students use Chromebook with ChromeVox activated and a USB connected Braille reader, I want to open Braille digital .BRF files in Google Docs  and have the contents display in raised bumps on the connected USB Braille reader while at the same time appearing on the normal screen of the Chromebook in a *VISUAL* Braille font.  There is a free Braille font named "SimBraille" that does exactly this, but it is only supported on PC and MAC, not on Chromebook or Google Docs. (SimBraille is downloadable at: http://www.brl.org/simbraille.html )
My job after I become certified would  be a lot simpler if I could show a digital .BRF Braille file on the normal screen of a Chromebook within Google Docs using a SimBraille font (so that I could *SEE* the Braille dots), and then have the same .BRF digital Braille file render in raised braille on  a USB connected braille device that my blind student uses.
Because neither Chromebook nor ChromeVox nor  Google Docs supports or provides  a SimBraille font, my only alternative is to own two computers:  one Chromebook with ChromeVox and a USB connected braille display for the student,  and a second PC or MAC that I have to use myself  in order to view the exact same .BRF file visually via the SimBraille font that my blind student is feeling with his fingers on the USB Braille reader..
That convoluted and expensive problem could be entirely solved if Google would provide and permit adding a SimBraille font to Google Docs on the Chromebook and  ChromeVox.  Lest you get the mistaken impression that Braille files with a .BRF extension are obscure, please note that the IRS provides downloads of their tax forms in .BRF format.  (See this link on the IRS website:   https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/irs-tax-forms-in-braille-and-text-formats )
