Hello,

When it comes to device type data available in CrUX, it seems that China is the greatest anomaly - desktop connections account for over 90% of all connections in China.

Why do you think that is?  According to this Wikipedia page, there are over 60 online restrictions created by the Chinese government. Is the government blocking the usage statistic reporting, which is more difficult to bypass on mobile devices? Or could it be that other browsers are much more popular in China for mobile users?

Best regards!

Since this is real data from the wild, answering the "why" is the hardest part. There can be many confounding factors affecting the results and your guess is as good as mine!

I've been using a RUM tool and I observed a massing difference on how it is able to catch rum data vs Crux from China. Basically it fully shows the CWV data from ~5k visits meanwhile it says no data for any metrics in the same period(1/mo) in Crux.
