Sometimes, a simple force restart can resolve these "stuck" states. Before exploring more complex options, let's try what the engineer suggested, but with an additional step. Could you try closing Google Chrome completely (making sure there are no background processes left) and reopening it? After restarting, go directly to chrome://components and click "Check for update" for that component again. Do you notice any changes, or does it still appear as "Up-to-date"?
