Extension Required?

It appears that the extension is required to use/test webMCP. I had expected in-chrome Gemini to have access to the Web MPC JS objects. Is that the plan for the future? If so which build of Chrome is scheduled to have that capability?

Great question and I had the same one. Any further information on when we can expect this in Gemini would help us to plan this better at our side.

As you guessed, the extension is meant for developers to try out their WebMCP tools for now.
In the future, Gemini-in-Chrome and other browser agents may eventually adopt WebMCP; no ETA though.
