I noticed a lot of these are already enabled in stable Chrome by default, but not LanguageModel. Also I wonder about when the multimodal support will be enabled by default.

Hi again,

The current origin trial (Chrome 139 to 144, end date Mar 24, 2026) of the Prompt API includes multimodal support. We can't publicly comment on release timelines, sorry, but being part of the early preview program is your guarantee to hear it first if/when a shipping decision is taken.

Cheers,
Tom

Let me add to this,

Yesterday, I sent an email with a couple of updates.
In particular, we are actively seeking folks' feedback on their experience with our APIs in Origin Trial, including the Prompt API.
This will help inform the next steps, so consider filling up the API readiness survey.

Thanks!
