MCP inspector extension not working

I am using Chrome Canary 147.0.7689.0 with webmcp flag enabled

Even with the demo page https://googlechromelabs.github.io/webmcp-tools/demos/french-bistro/,  the specified extension no longer works. 

Has anything changed?

I’ve updated the extension to version 1.7 and submitted it to the Chrome Web Store.
It should be available to everyone once it has been reviewed and approved.

Hi, experiencing the same issue. I still see version 1.6 on the web store. When should we see version 1.7?

Webstore item reviews take up to 48 hours, but they usually appear for me around 12 hours.
In the meantime, you can install locally the extension following https://github.com/beaufortfrancois/model-context-tool-inspector?tab=readme-ov-file#option-2-install-from-source instructions

Thanks. I installed locally as you suggested. I'm now using 1.7  but still getting the same error:

Uncaught (in promise) Error: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist. (background.js)

This error is thrown in service worker when the content script can't be injected in the page. For example, if the page scheme is chrome://, which is not allowed.
Just to be sure, did you run `npm install` first?

Which page are you testing?
If you right-click in the extension sidebar panel, and click "Inspect", do you see an error in the DevTools console that may help?
