No output language was specified in a Proofreader API request.

I'm updating my demos and adding { outputLanguage: "en" } to all the availability and create methods of all APIs.

I didn't get it working for the Proofreader until I realised that for this API, it's { correctionExplanationLanguage: "en" } instead.

It can be quite confusing for developers, I assume.

Any thoughts on this?

To be fair, the Translator and Prompt API also use different options to define the output language, but they are all targeting the actual text output and not the explanation that Proofreader also returns, and developers might not be interested in.

Hi Rowdy,

Yes, it's a bit confusing, because each of those APIs have different sub-concepts, apart from the main input and output languages: the Summarizer, Writer, and Rewriter can have a different language for specifying the (shared) context. The Proofreader can explain its corrections in a different language than the text being corrected,… It's complicated-ish, but luckily this is where our TypeScript types can help, even in non-TypeScript code bases.
