Removing the model

Is there a way to remove the model once it has been downloaded?

We would like to test our initial flow when the model is not already downloaded.

Hi Scott,

One way to test a flow like this is starting Chrome with a fresh data directory each time it runs. There are a couple ways you can do this:

1. Delete the directory after a run
2. Pass the --user-data-dir flag pointing to a path on your machine, e.g. --user-data-dir=/tmp/foo.

You can also remove the OptGuideOnDeviceModel folder.
In Chrome Canary for macOS, mine is located at /Users/fbeaufort/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome Canary/OptGuideOnDeviceModel

Removing the weights.bin file or the enclosing folder is what I've done in the past (without issues), but according to @Clark Duvall, it can leave your browser in a weird state, and at least one person has reached out with exactly this problem, so running with a clear throw-away user profile seems like the safer option. But, hey, YOLO 😎.

If you have deleted the model file, you can go through the Setup steps again, including the Last resort troubleshooting steps.
