Dear early preview program participants,

Hope you're having a great time working with our APIs! This update is to inform you of a breaking change for the Prompt API: the namespace has changed from `self.ai.assistant` to now `self.ai.languageModel`. This change is live as of 131.0.6776.0. I have updated the early preview documentation accordingly and also opened a PR for the TypeScript types and a PR for our demos as well. Thanks for your attention.

Cheers,
Tom

Is there an issue explaining the decision?

Also, we would have
supportsLanguage() to languageAvailable() change?

The reason basically is to avoid confusion with the Google Assistant

Yes, but it's not exposed yet. We will document it once it's available.

Hi,

Great build, what would the capacity for indigenous languages, how would the unsupervised learning be?

The model is right now focused on English language use cases and will fail with an unsupported language error elsewise. We hope to enable more languages in the future.

Cheers,
Tom

Hello Sir, Thanks for this great tool but I wasn't able to try as I have Linux (Ubuntu) on my PC. I wasn't able to troubleshoot it

The Prompt API per se is supported on Linux.

Tom

Thanks for the reply Sir, But I tried everything that I could, mentioned in the Documentation and still wasn't able to operate it. Is there any other way I can use the prompt API?

Hi there,

Please follow exactly the setup steps from the instructions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VG8HIyz361zGduWgNG7R_R8Xkv0OOJ8b5C9QKeCjU0c/edit. This should get you back on track. To make sure it works, you can also switch from Canary to Chrome Dev temporarily.

Cheers,
Tom

Sorry sir
Since last month I really stopped trying the Gemini nano API . But today I tried to reinstall it but the main problem appearing in front of me is that on chrome's components page it's showing the "Optimization Guide on Device Model" version is 0.0.0.0 and when I try to force the download by pressing"Check for update " it's showing "update error" message. What do I do now?
