Air France has once again amended its cancellation policy due to COVID-19. The updated Air France cancellation policy allows you to cancel, change, or refund your ticket depending on when you purchased it and for what travel date, as indicated below.
If your flight was cancelled, you can:
Postpone your trip and travel on another flight, as long as you request before your flight’s departure.
Cancel your trip and request a refund if you no longer wish to travel, subject to the laws and regulations of the country of ticket purchase.
If your ticket was issued before March 1, 2022, for travel on/before June 30, 2022, you can:
Postpone your trip (except for group fares and allotments) and travel later at no additional charge, as long as you pay the difference in fares if the original fare is no longer available.
Cancel your trip and:
Request a refundable travel voucher to book your new flight anytime within the next 1 year from its date of issue, regardless of the fare conditions of your ticket.
Request a refund (except for group fares and allotments), if the fare conditions of your ticket permit.
If your ticket was issued before March 1, 2022, for travel on/after July 1, 2022, you can:
Postpone your trip (except for group fares and allotments) and travel later at no additional charge, as long as you pay the difference in fares if the original fare is no longer available.
Cancel your trip and:
Request a non-refundable travel voucher to book a new flight. You can use the travel voucher anytime within the next 1 year from its date of issue.
Request a refund (except for group fares and allotments), if the fare conditions of your ticket permit.
If your ticket was issued between March 1, 2022, and June 28, 2022, you can:
Postpone your trip (except for group fares and allotments) and travel later at no additional charge, as long as you pay the difference in fares if the original fare is no longer available.
Cancel your trip and:
Request a non-refundable travel voucher to book a new flight. You can use the travel voucher anytime within the next 1 year from its date of issue.
Request a refund (except for group fares and allotments), if the fare conditions of your ticket permit.
If your ticket was issued on/after June 29, 2022, you can:
Make changes to your flight booking or cancel it, depending on the fare conditions of your ticket. You may be charged a change/cancellation fee and required to pay the difference in fares plus a service fee if you don’t make the changes online.
Does Air France have a 24-hour cancellation policy?
The Air France 24-hour cancellation policy applies to all tickets booked directly through Air France (website, mobile app, ticket counter, or call center) to/from the United States. Under this policy, you can cancel your flight booking without penalty if:
You book your ticket for a flight from or to the United States, and
You book at least one week before your flight’s departure date, and
You cancel your ticket within 24 hours of booking
What if Air France cancels my flight?
The Air France ticket cancellation policy allows you to claim a refund if Air France cancels your flight. If you’re offered an alternative flight, you can either opt for it without paying extra or ask for a refund—the choice is entirely yours.

What is the cancellation fee for Air France?

Light and Standard fares are non-refundable.
Flex (flexible tickets) fares are refundable.

How does the Air France refund policy work?
The 24-hour refund policy for tickets to or from the United States will always apply. If you book your ticket from the United States and directly through Air France at least 7 days before departure, you can cancel it within 24 hours and receive a full refund—no matter what type of ticket you’ve purchased.
You can also cancel your ticket and receive a full refund under the following conditions:
Air France cancels your flight.
Air France delays your flight by more than 5 hours.
Air France does not stop its flight at your destination.
Air France denies you boarding on a confirmed booking despite your having checked in on time for your flight.
