Hello,
I'm a university student currently working on my dissertation, which examines dark mode adoption and user preference across major browsers and platforms. As part of my research, I'm hoping the Chrome team might be able to share any publicly available statistics on dark mode usage among Chrome users.
Specifically, I'm interested in:
- The percentage of Chrome users who have dark mode enabled (system-level or browser-level)
- A breakdown by age group, if available (e.g. 18–24, 25–34, 35–44, 45+)
- Any further breakdowns by platform (desktop vs. mobile, OS, region)
- The most recent data you're able to share
I'm aware that Chrome Platform Status has historically published 'prefers-color-scheme: dark' figures, and I'd be grateful for a pointer to the latest numbers, any age-segmented data, or any newer reports I could cite.
Any information or direction you can offer would be enormously helpful for my work. Thank you very much for your time.
Best regards,
Crușoveanu Ioan
