Hey folks, just two quick things to note:

First, remember how, in the Good Old Days(tm) of Rietveld, you had to update your account's display username in order to include messages like "OOO until Friday" or "Do Not Use (personal email)"? Well, no longer! In Gerrit, you can set a separate "Status" field on your settings page. That status is then displayed next to your name on reviews and in autocomplete.

Second, as lots of folks take the next few weeks off for vacation, remember that it can be a huge help to other devs to note the fact that you're OOO, on vacation, or slow in your review responses. So use that status field and help everyone have a good December!

Thanks,
your friendly neighborhood codereview dude

Thanks for the remainder.

Question: Is the status showing up in commit messages a known issue?
e.g. https://crrev.com/521908 is the most recent CL in my local git
tree that contains "OOO".

In that example, the author changed their display name to add the OOO note instead of using the status field.

You are right. It's all good then.

Bonus (until issue 6695 is fixed): When you're not out of the office put your local timezone in that field so the people know when to expect you to be online.

Suggestion: Modify the PolyGerrit settings page to make a suggestion
to folks who put "OOO" in the name field to use the status field
instead.
