Vertical tabs feature status

Hello

I see lots of commits this year both merged and active right now, for vertical tabs in Chromium.

Any issues referenced in the commits I have seen say Access is denied. Examples

I don't see vertical tabs on https://chromestatus.com/features

Is there a reason why vertical tab Chromium issues are private?
Is there any way to follow development or get an idea of status of the feature?
Will a vertical tabs entry be created on chromestatus.com?

Chromestatus feature entries (and this list) track web-exposed features: https://www.chromium.org/blink/guidelines/web-exposed/.
