Gang,

It's that time again. In about a month Chrome 82 goes to beta. Please let me know of anything that might be shipping in Chrome 82 or 83. I don't care if it's a new API, a bug to add a missing interface member, a spec change or whatever. I need to know all of it. If you have any questions about this, just ask, or refer to the FAQ in my updated communication instructions.

Without further ado, here's what's currently on my radar. Items in red are deprecations or removals.

Thanks,
Joe

If an API's not documented it doesn't exist.

I'm planning to ship Imperative Shadow DOM Distribution API in Chrome M83.

Link to entry on the Chrome Platform Status

I sent out an I2P yesterday.

Thanks,

The Screen Wake Lock API may slip to M-83 depending on how many changes miss the branch point.

Hi Joe,

We’re planning to get scheduler.postTask into origin trial in M82. Sorry for the late response.

Is raw clipboard really going to ship even when it was opposed strongly by many parties for rather good reasons?
https://github.com/WICG/raw-clipboard-access/issues/3 is still open.

Also, the email seems to miss the link to the relevant feature.

Oops sorry, and thanks for the the catch Olli. I misspoke.

Raw Clipboard isn't going to ship now or by M83. We have a plan to complete an implementation behind a flag (likely by M83), in order to experiment and continue discussion, before reconvening for further review, as shared in https://github.com/w3ctag/design-reviews/issues/406#issuecomment-597937627 and in an internal (sorry) go/raw-clipboard-access-strategy.

*I meant that raw clipboard isn't going to ship in it's current shape. We are still interested in pursuing this functionality, and will reconvene for further review soon with a different shape and hopefully more protections/guarantees, potentially including pickling. (sorry for spamming on this thread, but just wanted to clarify)
