Example: "ілн".match(/(?!>)\bілн\b(?!<\/span>)/uig)
Actual Result: null
Expected Result: ["ілн"]

If other browsers return the expected result, then you can use crbug.com/v8 to report a Chrome issue.
I tested Firefox and it returns null as well, so it might be working as designed and either your code is wrong (use stackoverflow.com to resolve your issue), or the specification is mishandling this case and you need to take this feedback to the ECMAScript working group, https://github.com/tc39/ecma262/issues.
