I have a Cr-48 and have a little script that scrapes the /etc/lsb-
release file for pertinent info. and records any differences between
past and current versions and then displays it. I would also like to
display any differences in Chrome (browser) versions also but can't
seem to find a file with this info. on the system - I've looked! Does
anyone know of a command to display this or a file to find it in? I'd
be most grateful.
Thanx,
DennisL

In answer to my own question - I found it and am a little embarrassed to discover it was right in front of my nose - '/opt/google/chrome/chrome --version' will do it nicely.
Here's the output of the script:

Node name  : localhost
Machine    : i686
Codename   : Chrome OS
OS Release : Linux 2.6.38.3
OS Config  : unknown
OS Board   : x86-mario-signed-mp-v2keys
OS Coder   : unknown
OS Desc.   : 1193.15.0
Browser    : 16.0.912.10
