a new instance of content script is loaded in each tab?

hi, 

i know that content script is loaded in each active page. does my content script store a variable in one page and then, use it other page?

basically i want to ask if content scripts are limited to a web page in their scope or they are loaded in each active page but still store the variables of last loaded pages?

AFAIK, content scripts are loaded for each page individually and each page's/frame's content script is independent of each other.
