This happened to me as well. One of my extensions “TAKEN DOWN” with no notification sent and no reason given.  Annoyingly, I sent a message to this mailing list asking for explanation, but I have yet to receive a response.

I don't think I received any reason why an extention I created was "TAKEN DOWN".

Surely the logical thing to do is to notify us within the dashboard of the Chrome Extension Developers page WHY?????

Google is amazing at the things it can do.... It can photo the world, map the night sky, tell me exactly which mobile devices accessed my website...... yet it can't automatically leave me a brief note saying WHY it just TOOK DOWN one of my extensions..? Come on Mr Google..... one of your departments is not following the same high standards of the others...

My Extension is:

Just a mere Bookmark link to my website. http://www.cleanstream.co.uk

How many others have been affected in this "unprofessional" way? (Comment below)

You should have received an email with an explanation of why your item was removed. Typically, items are taken down because of some violation of the store's Terms of Service. For example, someone uploads a game that is basically a redirect to another site, or contains copyrighted material that they don't own, etc.

The store's Terms of Service (https://developers.google.com/chrome/web-store/terms) are very clear on this. If you address the violation, you can apply to have your item reinstated.

For those of us who received no such messages, is there any way we can find out the reason?  (Preferably from a human)

Same here, I just saw this message. My extension was taken down WITHOUT warning.

I had 120K+ active users. I am really sad and kinda frustrated to be honest. It was in the Web Store for 15 months.
Kind regards,
Mohamed Mansour

Joe, can you check and get back to me why my extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/npcmgpnfknjmndbbakdhchgibaajnlpe/publish-review) was taken down from the Google Store yesterday? It was approved when initially published. I haven't received any note or explanation via email yet.

Thanks in advance,
Stefan
