Detect the foreground app in Chrome OS

Hi,

Is it possible to get the window id or whatever identifier of the foreground app in Chrome OS? I currently try to implement an app to detect user's activity on Chrome OS.

The closest thing we have to that is the chrome.windows API for extensions which lets you see windows with regular web pages and extension pages, but not chrome app windows.
