As a web designer I struggle finding the perfect font for a web site when Google Chrome renders fonts so badly. I have found several hacks to help with this issue but none are ideal. This issue has been mentioned several times before and the Google team has mentioned that a solution is in the works but I think we have waited long enough.

It is embarrassing to have a client look at their site and grimace when they see the fonts I have selected look ugly, choppy and sometimes illegible. My advice to the Google Chrome team is to stop focusing on useless features and get back down to basics. Make sure fonts render smoothly since the primary thing we do on the web is read.

I agree completely. They keep adding silly features but text even on their own sites (Google Play) looks awful.

As a web user, I have a simple solution: I don't use Chrome - exactly because of the font rendering problem.

As a web developer... we have no choice but to support Chrome for Windows.  The current implementation of web fonts is unacceptable.
