Hello everyone!
If you are a Mac Canary or Dev channel user, you might have noticed that some browser dialogs have changed appearance recently. Recently, the MacViews team have enabled the first set of MacViews dialogs, meaning that for Mac Canary/Dev, Chrome will use the Views implementations of those dialogs instead of the Cocoa implementations. For more details about MacViews, check out the high-level overview doc:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/19WPKsoMckPkSQQRCnj0YoBOgKdBTT5WDsJTwa7kd47Y/edit#
You can enable or disable the new dialogs manually by flipping the "mac-views-webui-dialogs" flag in chrome://flags. For reference, the affected dialogs are:
- Collected/blocked cookies UI
- Extension device permissions request
- Extension installation prompt
- The HTTP basic auth prompt
- The site permissions bubble (the one used when a site asks to send notifications and so on)
- The website settings dialog (the one that appears when you click the padlock)
- The credit card autofill prompt
If you have any feedback about the look or behavior of the new dialogs, please direct it to me or shrike@ :)
