Able to repro this issue on Latest Canary 25.0.1336.0,Dev 25.0.1323.1,Beta
24.0.1312.25
Stable 23.0.1271.91 on Win7,Mac 10.8.2 and Ubuntu 12.04

Please find the attached screenshot.

Not a regression,issue exists from M19 build.

I think we're hitting this problem in our linearGradients when they are
close enough together that they only cross a few pixels. It manifests as
some pretty severe banding and odd color mixing.

Is there any way to work around this bug by specifying the gradient stops
in some other way?
