Marc, is this similar to what you were talking about?
hey Mark, who can we get to look into this? Maybe someone can take a look
at Colin's machine? (cgibbs@)
thanks,
Jeff

If you go into Activity Monitor (/Applications/Utilities) and choose Sample
Process (likely the renderer "Google Chrome Renderer") when this happens,
attach the file here. I'm working on a tool to symbolicate these kinds of
logs.
Is this mac only? If anyone can repro in MTV-1950 ping me and I'll come
over to take a look.

Yes! Google Geniuses! Please explain what is going on here! Same thing is
happening to me!!
Chrome v13.0.782.215 m on windows 32bit XP SP3
Within the last week im now getting 100% CPU EVERY time I do a search in
google.co.uk
seems to be OK for searches within google.com
I suspect Google modified stuff without telling us !!!! Please resolve ASAP
or revert your changes !!!! Please ;)
Chrome 13.0.782.218 on Windows XP
In the last weeks I get 100% CPU usage in a page showing the google search
result page.
Usually I do a ctrl-k, enter the search term and press the return key.
The the results appear, but I can not click any of them.
Well I can click, but nothing happens. CPU usage is at 100%.
I can open other tabs.
When I close the offending tab, everything returns to normal.
I am not sure what exactly triggers it. It happens on about every 10th
google search.
I dont know if will help... On a site I was working on If I had this in the
css:
@-webkit-keyframes bugfix { from { padding: 0; } to { padding: 0; } }
chrome's cpu usage would peg between 50% and 100%. The above css was to
correct an issue using pseudo selectors + and ~ with classes. see
http://css-tricks.com/8439-webkit-sibling-bug/ for more info.
When I removed @-webkit-keyframes bugfix { from { padding: 0; } to {
padding: 0; } } the CPU issue was resolved. Perhaps this or some other
offending css is causing these CPU spikes.
Same as in comment 17 , now with version 14.0.835.202
This is happening on Windows, version 14.0.835.202 for approximately the
second day.
Constant High CPU usage regardless of load.
I'm having the same problem. Windows 7 running v14.0.835.202. I hate the
auto update because it changes things wihtout my permission or knowledge
when Chrome was running fine. This just started.
Possibly this thread is now taking up this issue? Activity is a bit more
active on this thread:

I having the same problem. Ubuntu 10.04. Chromium 15.0.874.106 Ubuntu 10.04
i have been watching my cpu monitor and throughout the day, it pegged more
and more. this is win 7 no service pack. i closed tabs and addons and same.
restarted chrome and it is still spiking regularly. NOW on my netbook right
next to it running XP, i do not have the runaway cpu utilization. peaks
around 50% with 4 tabs.
Chrome kills my batter big time, high cpu usage, not sure what causes it.
