New issue 60669 by k...@google.com: Google Maps freezes Chrome tab
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=60669

Chrome Version : 8.0.552.11 dev
URLs (if applicable) : maps.google.com
Other browsers tested: Any
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Safari 4: OK
Firefox 3.x: OK
IE 7: OK
IE 8: OK

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to maps.google.com
2. Zoom in a bit and try to pan

What is the expected result?

Maps works (pans, zooms)

What happens instead?

Entire tab freezes. I have to close it. No crash though.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

This is on glucid both desktop & laptop. It's been happening for several
dev releases now; maybe for a month? I've switched to bing maps in the
meantime.

Same issue here. Fixed by going to the 'about:flags' page and
disabling "GPU Accelerated Canvas 2D".
