Refresh app

I am building a chrome app which has a form in it and fetches information from a database.

I would like to have a refresh button so that when that particular button is clicked all the data on the page gets refreshed.

I have created a button also and on the back-end (java script), I tried using the reload() function, but it does not seem to work for me.

When I run the same html file on a browser it works, It'll be of great help somebody help me with this topic
