Hey I think you gotta pay 5 bucks to start posting on the Chrome Web Store

Hi there,

Our extension was just removed, but we didn't get an explanation for why this was the case (I checked spam / inbox). Here's the extension in question:

I don't think we're doing anything malicious (bait and switch, spam our users, post ads, etc). My only suspicious is because of the new User Data Policy, where we're in violation for not having a privacy policy in place. But as I understand it, we have until July 14, 2016 to make this change:

We'll notify developers when we discover items that violate the User Data Policy, and they'll have until July 14, 2016 to make any changes needed for compliance. Starting July 15th, 2016, items that violate the policy will be removed from the Web Store and will need to become compliant to be reinstated.

The other possible issue, is because our extension talks to a third party app (https://www.intercom.io/), which we use for sending in-app messages for feature updates, onboarding messages and providing support requests. But both only affect logged in users. Even if that's the issue, why aren't there warnings before we get flagged? I'd be happy to correct these if these are problems.

Can someone please help? Thanks.

John

Thanks Sean. The issue isn't adding it to the star. Our extension was already up (26k users, 4.5 stars, etc.), but it was removed without notice.

For those wondering, the extensions back up. You need to contact support via https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/contact/developer_support

Turnaround was ~24 hours. Good luck!
