The infra teams within Chrome are wondering if we would like to utilize AI-assisted triage.

When it's my turn for triage I generally get it done in an hour per day, and I personally like the opportunity to take the pulse of different kinds of bugs to see what is going on. And of course it won't work 100% accurately.

From that perspective, I'm not sure that further automation would necessarily add value, but others may have different opinions...WDYT?

Yeah I've been talking to them too. I tend to spend a few hours but probably because I sometimes go too deep in trying to understand and reproduce an issue. I also do it because I find it valuable to keep a pulse on what developers are complaining about and also don't want to lose that, but that may not be realistic. We already have some amount of TVC triage happening meaning there are a lot of bugs we never see through blink triage, right? Assuming we don't want that to stop, then I don't think some amount of AI triage is necessarily bad (certainly the TVC triage is nowhere near "100% accurate" either). Perhaps we could say we welcome high confidence automatic and TVC triage but prefer uncertain / low-confidence bugs are left for us to review manually? In particular, I'd certainly welcome automatic triage for all the spam and unactionable reports we get that aren't worth us even looking at. Maybe the AI can rate the quality of the report and focus only on the low quality ones?

I wrote an extension prototype that determined the component of bugs using gemini, but being that this list has external people on it. I'm not sure how much I should share.
