Hey everybody,

Quite a few of you have reached out on the mailing list, One Stop Support, Reddit, Slack, or directly to myself or Oliver about losing your Featured badge. I wanted to share that those badges should now be back.

This was an unintended side effect of a recent back-end change for the Chrome Web Store. Once we traced the problem, we were able to deploy a rollback, which is now live. All badges should now be reinstated and visible as expected.

If you are still seeing any discrepancies with your extension's badge, please reach out to our support team via One Stop Support so we can investigate further.

I really appreciate everyone who took the time to reach out about this, and I am truly sorry for any stress caused by our mistake.

Patrick, on behalf of the Chrome Web Store Team

Hi Patrick.

If you filter by "Featured", it doesn't show those, at least on the second page. Try searching for "Toby" and then check "Featured".

Hi Andriy!
Super sorry about that - there was a separate bug with the featured filter that was also found, it wasactually fixed already yesterday and will be live in production soon.

Sorry again!

Hey Patrick, I know extension reviews aren’t your direct area, but this needs visibility. There’s an active thread from about a week ago where multiple developers (myself included) are reporting the same issue with review times that are exceeding the stated expectations. At this point, it’s not just a delay, it’s preventing us from addressing live issues in a reasonable timeframe.

Right now, there’s zero transparency around what’s causing this (backlog, staffing, etc.) or how long reviews are actually taking, which leaves developers completely in the dark. Can you pass this along to the appropriate team or help get some clarity on current review timelines? Even a rough update would be better than no visibility at all.

Hi Patrick,

Unfortunately, our featured badge (item bcocdbombenodlegijagbhdjbifpiijp, 500k users) was not restored, despite reaching via the Chrome Web Store One Stop Support without any explanations. It was dropped without explanations, and we are in the dark as to why, and the CWS Team is providing any further info.

Kind regards,
Hanna @ INSSIST.com

Hi,

I can't share details on why your extension didn't qualify for the badge, but it looks like it was not impacted by the broader issue mentioned in this thread.

You are welcome to open an appeal through https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/contact/one_stop_support but they may also be limited in what they can share.
