Chrome Developer Dashboard showing incorrect stats - Installations and Weekly Users

Hey,

The daily installs of extension shown by the chrome developer dashboard stats-graph is much lower the actual installs. Does these install numbers not take into account the inline installations?

Secondly, the number of 'Weekly Users' also doesn't show any increase due to installs. I know it depends on uninstall-rate and active users too. But the number doesn't reflect even large extension installations. What could be the reason behind this?

I've asked multiple times exactly how these stats (as well as the Web Store user counts) are calculated and have unfortunately never received a meaningful answer. I don't think anyone knows.

My approach has been to take these numbers with a grain of salt and just use GA.

I have built a chrome extension "smart history classifier"  for managing all Web browsing history information very neatly by using machine learning techniques.

I see that the Google analytics is reporting close to 500 users. On Google Chrome page i see number as 75 users. It's not even near to what the actual numbers are. Pretty chaotic.
