How does one go about advertising in the chrome web store listings?

That is currently a trial experiment - there's no official program to get into. Ads are only being shown to 50% of US store visitors. We will probably be making a decision about whether to make this official sometime this quarter, but no hard dates have been set.

Thanks Joe. Now that it's been more than a quarter, has any decision been made yet? Would absolutely love to advertise in the chrome web store.

Chris

Interesting. I never even noticed it.

Yeah, well.... the team has still not gotten around to formalizing it yet. I plan on bringing this up for discussion soon. We need to make a decision one way or another on this.

Thanks so much Joe for the quick reply. I'm sure you'll have plenty of eager customers if you do decide to.

Yeah, that's what we're afraid of. :-)

We need to make the system really robust, and that will take engineering time.

From a developer viewpoint I think this would be helpful to get eyeballs on new extensions/apps. A "Promote my app" button that would increase views on searches and categories would be helpful.

Is the ad platform the bottleneck?

Any update on this? I would be first in line for a beta test.

Extensions on the new and updated extensions page not updating for several days.
Think this is advertising for some apps and put down results for another.

Hello Joe,

Are there any news about promoting extensions on Chrome Store?

Our non-profit had a nice push of the "Helpfreely App" during a week of visibility as "Featured extension", and we'd like to understand if we can give more visibility on Chrome Store.

Thanks in advance,

Hello Geet,

don't know exactly, our extension Helpfreely App is having an organic growth linked to the users that register on our platform, maybe we've been hand picked because of the good reviews or installations.
