Hello,

We have received an email from CWS about the extension removal due to "Single Purpose".
Item ID: abjcfabbhafbcdfjoecdgepllmpfceif.
Violation reference ID: Red Magnesium
Providing multiple unrelated functionalities
Stated: "Enhances watching experience on YouTube."
Additional: "Making contact to api64.com which is not related to the functionality"
How to rectify: Modify your extension to provide a single and narrow functionality.
Relevant section of the program policy:
An extension must have a single purpose that is narrow and easy-to-understand. Do not create an extension that requires users to accept bundles of unrelated functionality.

Requests to api64.com is not unrelated functionality. It is not clear who decided this and why. The request is directly related to the "AI-based reminders" option. We get the latest version of the browser from the server (impossible to put future versions in an extension, or do we need to guess the future? ;) Then based on fixes useful for YouTube; YouTube account security (because the holes in the old browser versions); etc., we display or not the notification. This feature helps end users to fix issues, security and other bugs a.s.a.p, so this functionality also "Enhances watching experience on YouTube".

Please help us to resolve this false violation.

Hi Chris
Did you file an appeal at One Stop Support?

Hey Chris,
I am not sure what a google platinum expert is, but as a member of the Chrome Extension team I can assure you that their opinion does not impact your listing whatsoever.

Can you share the appeal ID?

Hi Patrick,

Yes, just did it. But I don’t think this will help, since an "Google Platinum Expert", which has a competing extension, has been opposing us for a long time. Using "Google Platinum Expert" name he сomplains everywhere and tries in every possible way to remove our extension or slow down development. This has been happening for more than ten years, every year or half a year we have to prove that we are not an "elephant" under threats of removing the extension.
