How to make my extension faster?

I have developed a chrome extension which was working good when loaded locally.

But when I published it it has become too slow. 

Need some suggestions to increase the speed and what is slowing it down.

Sounds almost impossible... Both of the methods load the extension files from the local drive.

Perhaps your Chrome profile is on a slower drive than your unpacked extension?
