Status update request: Chrome Web Store featured badge self-nominations — Case IDs 2-8003000040564, 4-6103000041156, 7-8206000040571

Hi all — hoping someone from the Web Store team can help with a status check.

I submitted a featured badge self-nomination for my extension WebBrain (an open-source, MIT-licensed AI browser agent for Chrome) on June 28, and have since received confirmations for three case IDs: 2-8003000040564, 4-6103000041156, and 7-8206000040571. These are likely duplicates of the same request rather than distinct submissions — happy for the extras to be closed if that's cleaner on your side.

Nearly a month on, I haven't had a response on any of them, and there's no status visible in the developer dashboard. I understand these are reviewed manually and there may be a backlog — I'm not looking to jump the queue, just to confirm the nomination is in the pipeline and that nothing further is needed from me. Happy to provide any additional information or documentation if that would help.

As you might've seen, we have a number of open threads about the self nomination process right now. Rather than leaving these threads unanswered, I wanted to at least acknowledge that we have seen them and are taking a look.

As soon as I have an update from our operations team, I'll be sure to share more details - hopefully within the coming days.

Hi Oliver,

I wanted to follow up. You mentioned that you expected to have an
update within the coming days. Do you have any news from the
operations team, or an updated timeline for the review?

The project continues to gain momentum. It has now passed 600 stars
through organic growth, and is processing roughly 5 billion tokens per
month on the WebBrain Cloud alone (it should be more when accounting
for third-party APIs and offline LLMs).

We’re excited about how it’s developing and would appreciate any
update you can share about the nomination review.

I was able to speak to the team. We have a fairly large backlog of self-nomination cases at the moment, and it will likely take us some time to get through them. However, none of the requests are lost, and we are slowly working through them.

Just one quick update since our last exchange: WebBrain is launching
on Product Hunt today, hunted by Chris Messina.

The project has continued to grow, with 700+ GitHub stars, 40+
contributors, thousands of users, and billions of tokens served
monthly through WebBrain Cloud.

I also think WebBrain is becoming increasingly relevant to Chrome as
AI-native browsers such as Dia gain traction. It gives Chrome users a
way to access agentic browsing capabilities while still choosing their
own models and infrastructure.
