All right, yesterday when I was trying to visit a website AllMusic.com, I got a pop-up notification telling me how I must either disable AdBlock or install this extension: Support Free Content - Google Chrome web store.
I have no idea what this extension is doing, what are her functions because there is no description of what is the point of having it installed on your browser. The “contact” button on their main page does not work either.
Quoting:
Many sites operate solely on revenue earned from advertising and supporter donations. This revenue keeps the servers running; the staff is working on new features and to get artists paid for their contributions.
Therefore, this site claims that this extension helps to run sites that promote advertisement properly.
Everybody knows that advertisement is dangerous; the websites are full of worms, malware's, viruses and spyware, which are ready to hijack your computer and steal your privacy. I do not know why Google Company hasn't tested this extension yet, but I am not planning to install this suspicious extension on my browser without knowing what her function is.
A screenshot to prove my point:
Is this allowed? Can somebody address me a policy where it states that extension like this is allowed in Google Chrome store?
